The Inspire Action Network (IAN) is sponsoring a Candidate Forum featuring four of the announced candidates for King County Executive.

Dow Constantine Ross Hunter Fred Jarrett Larry Phillips

They will compete in a non-partisan primary in August followed by a runoff between the two highest vote getters in November.

In November, 2009 the voters of King County, Washington will participate in the first non-partisan election of a County Executive. The election has special meaning because of the recent nomination of County Executive Ron Sims to be the Deputy Secretary of the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. Sims served 12 years as King County Executive and thirteen years as a member of the County Council. During that time enormous and often very positive changes took place. The issues for a newly elected Executive and Council are substantial.
